This house plan can be modified to fit your family’s lifestyle and your lot’s specifics.
Plan 39618R is a 5-bedroom single-story house plan in the Modern Mountain style, offering 1492 ft² of living space above a walkout basement. A double shed roof with the ridge perpendicular to the street, large windows and a mix of siding, stone/brick veneer and stucco give the house a crisp Contemporary and Northwest character, softened by Mid Century lines. The house measures 45'0" wide and 51'0" deep, and its exterior walls are framed in 2x6 wood, with 2x4 framing also available on request.
The entry opens into an open floor plan where the large family room, under vaulted ceilings, flows straight into the kitchen. A fireplace in the family room anchors the seating area, which makes this a house plan with fireplace that pays off on winter evenings. The large kitchen centers on an island, adds a breakfast bar for quick meals and a breakfast nook for slower ones, and keeps supplies in a walk-in pantry. A sunroom carries the living space toward the light, and a media room gives movie nights a place of their own. The reverse living arrangement keeps the everyday gathering rooms on the upper level, where they gain the most from the large windows.
Split bedrooms place the main floor master apart from the other bedrooms, so the master suite stays quiet and private. It comes with a walk-in closet, and three full bathrooms serve all five bedrooms, a comfortable ratio for a 5 bedroom house plan meant for a full household or frequent guests. Laundry on the main floor saves trips up and down the stairs, and a separate utility room keeps mechanical equipment out of the living areas.
Outside, stacked porches and a balcony add outdoor space on more than one level, while a covered rear porch shelters morning coffee and summer dinners. The attached front-entry 2-car garage includes an upstairs above the parking bays. As a house plan with walkout basement, it stands on a walkout basement foundation; the plan is also available with a slab or a crawl space.
