This house plan can be modified to fit your family’s lifestyle and your lot’s specifics.
Plan 98311R is a 5-bedroom three-story house plan that brings together Acadian, Louisiana and Low Country character in 4400 ft² of living space, sheltered by a gable roof with dormers and a ridge parallel to the street. Stone/brick veneer and natural stone cover the exterior walls and give the rustic American facade its weight and texture. The house measures 60'4" wide and 61'8" deep, and its layout includes five bedrooms, five full bathrooms and one half bathroom, so every bedroom can have a bath of its own.
The entry opens to an open floor plan built around a large family room with a fireplace, the natural gathering spot on winter evenings. The rear kitchen is large and well equipped: an island for preparing meals, a breakfast bar for quick conversations, a breakfast nook for slow weekend mornings and a walk-in pantry that keeps the counters clear. Because the kitchen sits at the back of the house, it stays connected to the family room and to the outdoor living spaces behind it. A home office gives a quiet place to work away from the busy heart of the house.
The master suite is on the second floor, with a walk-in closet, and the bedrooms are clustered so the family sleeps close together. Laundry on the second floor puts the washing right where the clothes are, with no baskets carried up and down the stairs. An in-law suite welcomes parents or long-staying guests with privacy and comfort, while the bonus level upstairs leaves room for a playroom, a studio or whatever the family needs next. Storage space throughout helps keep a home of this size organized.
Outside, a covered front porch greets visitors and a covered rear porch extends the living area, joined by a deck and an outdoor fireplace for cool evenings outdoors. The attached three-car garage combines front entry and side entry. The plan is drawn with the foundation as shown and is also available with a crawl space, a slab, a monolithic slab, a stem wall or a basement; the exterior walls are framed as shown, with 2×6 exterior walls available on request.
