This house plan can be modified to fit your family’s lifestyle and your lot’s specifics.
Plan 89206R is a 6-bedroom, 4-story coastal house plan that arranges 4294 ft² in an elevated design beneath a hip and valley roof. Shakes and shingles cover the exterior walls, and the elevation combines Shingle and Craftsman detailing with a Transitional, modern Craftsman restraint. The result is an American single-family home that feels relaxed and tailored at once. The house measures 70'9" wide and 57'0" deep, and an elevator connects the levels, so this house plan with elevator stays comfortable for every generation of the family.
The layout follows a reverse living concept, lifting the main gathering rooms to where the large windows and floor-to-ceiling windows can open the interior to the view. An open floor plan joins the large family room, crowned by vaulted ceilings and anchored by a fireplace, to the large kitchen. There, an island and a breakfast bar keep whoever is cooking part of the conversation, a breakfast nook offers an easy place for morning coffee, and a walk-in pantry holds supplies for a big household. On winter evenings the fireplace makes the family room the natural heart of the house.
Six bedrooms are placed in a split bedrooms arrangement, giving parents, children and guests their own quiet zones. The master suite sits on the main floor with a walk-in closet, and an in-law suite gives extended family or long-term visitors real privacy. Five full bathrooms and two half bathrooms serve the four stories generously. A game room offers space for movie nights and hobbies, the laundry is on the main floor, and dedicated storage keeps seasonal gear out of sight.
Outside, a drive-under, front-entry garage for two cars tucks into the base of the elevated home, and a defined entry welcomes guests beneath a portico. A covered front porch, stacked porches, a balcony and a deck extend the living space outdoors on several levels, while a bay window adds depth to the facade. The house is drawn with the foundation as shown, and it is also available with a crawl space, slab, monolithic slab, stem wall or basement foundation. 2×6 exterior walls are available on request.
